Foam body sparkle organza wing cicada. This is experimental, I've never fished this fly. :D But looking forward to try it soon.

Great looking Cikada Plutrach!! I think it would work
as a big as caddis also or just as an attractor pattern
in most waters.

hinlis -still have not figured why he cant attach more then one pic/post :glare:

Great flies!

The only way to get multiple pictures in a single post is to have them all hosted somewhere else, like photobucket or some other picture hosting site. Then you have to use the "image" button linking to the pictures rather than attaching.

Only 1 picture can be "attached" at a time. I think the limit is 10 "image" links.

Plutrach, Could you plse post a picture of the underside of the fly. ie how the fish see it. Interested to see how you have completed the bottom side. Cheers, Charlie

Sure, Charlie, here you go. I've looked at it from the bottom of a glass of water and it looks convincing. The wings and the body width do it. The wings sit flat on the water too.

Hi Plutrach,

Nice looking fly. That's sort of similar to a fly by Marc Griffiths, he had an interesting article about in Flylife #50 a while back. Here's the fly:

http://www.wildflies.co.nz/dryflies/sparkle-wing-cicada.html

Your overall profiles are similar, but yours looks less hassle to tie. Not that I don't like messing with deer hair, but yours would definitely be quicker to knock a few up :-).

Regards,

Jo
