I have just come back from fishing the Twizel area and can report that most of the Twizel river has Didymo. Some areas were brown all the way across the river and it was slippery under foot in places. Fish were actively feeding but hard to spot in Snot areas, we cast to spotted fish and some blind fishing to less luck. Fish were attracted to nymphs. I hooked and lost four and brought home a fifth fish taken on a dry. Tony took two on dries and had plenty of interest to the dries.

Wind was the word of the weekend. Very strong and difficult fishing, though with some sheltered spots it was enjoyable enough.

Ronan, Joe (his Dad), Kevin and I fished the mouth and lower section of the Tekapo River today, we did not see any Didymo in the section of River we were fishing but Ronan and Kevin reported seeing very large amounts at the mouth. :(

We had a good day, caught 13 between us. 9 were caught in the river between two of us, all on nymphs.

Wind was gusty but not as bad as yesterday when it was a bitch.
