What are you all finding to be the optimum carry for this line, I realise it will vary from caster to caster but interested to see some figures.

Cheers

Ben

Hi Ben!

I have no figures but I usually carry a lot less of that line than what I do with the Barrio or ED. The main reason for this is because I find the line a bit unstable. It's probably just down to technique but I have a hard time casting clean loops on long carrys with it.

It shoots like hell though.

Cheers,
Fredrik

Hi Ben!

I carry it to somewhere between 26-28 meters depending on wind. It feels heavier in the front than the ED, tracking seems to be a bit more crucial with the Rio line. Get your loops near vertical and it will carry nicely but flip the loop a bit on the side and it kicks out with a vengence.

It shoots just fantastic! 14-15 meter shoots are not uncommon at all.

Best Regards
Stefan

Cheers guys, I think I have to carry less with it to get the same distance as with the MED.  Just away to work out what 27 meters is in English Stefan  :p

About 90 ft seams ideal.... less than 70 ft sucks! If someone can figure out a 120 foot line that doesn't twist.... they probably wouldn't make any money but I would be happy.

It's certainly a shorter optimum carry for me than the MED. I'll make some measurements this weekend. The prototypes were 140 feet long - it's a pity that the production model is only 120ft.

I'm 100% sure that line twist is down to us and not the line!

Cheers, Paul
