With the various examining boards for fly casting?

How many are active, which ones have qualifications worth pursuing, and are any to be avoided due to excessive wearing of blazers?

Personal anecdotes and opinions welcome.

Hi Peter,

FFF is the most International. AAPGAI the most professional with the highest standards. If you decide to go down either of these routes I can help.

I joined the Association of Professional Game Angling Instructors 17 years ago, which after a monumental fuck up, became AAPGAI. I'm recently a Master with them and one year into trainee examiner programme.

I joined FFFCP in 2004. I'm Master with them and on the MCI and International committees.

I'm also an instructor with the CNL in Spain. Great guys!

Cheers, Paul

Hi Peter,

If you are coming to the BFCC event in Glasgow in September you can meet FFF, GAIA, APGIA, AAPGAI and SGIAC(?) instructors and ask all the questions you want.

Thanks for all the info Paul, much appreciated

All being well, I should be at the Glasgow meet Mike. I didnt realise there was such a highly qualified membership so this would seem the ideal opportunity to discover what's involved. Looking forward to meeting up with everyone  ;)

That's just one person Peter :p

Seriously though, there are a few that belong to two or three associations so you should get some sound advice.

If you are going to the Glasgow casting club there will be lots of people for you to ask, all are on a par with each other.
