Hi guys i need help. I want to update my dictanse 5 weight,  and at the same time get a nice fishing rod.

The rod will be used for big trout and distance practice (ofcourse) and will be baptised on the south island in january.

My favourite carbo rods are tcr 5 and xp 5.

Advice?

Hi mate
Not to spend a fortune and have a great rod, I have only one answer for you
 SEXYLOOPS COMPETITION VERSION ROD

I broke my TCR (which will be replaced), and then I really wanted TCX,after what I red about it, but after I casted 6wt,and 8wt rated TCX, I dont want it any more (,more precise, I wont spend that money for it)
TCX its a great, very light, fast rod and feels awsome in hand, but for a distance casting, (the real long stuff) it feels to tipi for me, (at least in my hands) , dont get me wrong somebody can be great caster and achive massive distance with it, what Im saying is just my own opinion.

So again. You want ONE rod that if you know how to, you will be able to cast far, and at the same time get good feel on the fish SL ROD is an answer.
P.s
NO I dont have any special deal from Paul, for saying this, but I have casted it , and for me feels great, for 200€ less then TCX.
P.s
more feedback, as soon as it arrives to me.Come on Paul speed up the production :p
Cheers

Simon,

Are you also looking at CTS X?

They kindly made me a 10' #6 in FIVE pieces - a simply lovely rod.

I'm about to have a 9'6" #5 in FIVE pieces - can't wait!

Just in case any one was interested...

This rod is 10', #6, FIVE pieces - Lee Cummings suggested it was better suited to a #7, and that's how I use it now.

It weighs 125g.

Not sure how that compares, but there are factors making it heavy:

- FIVE sections
- Fighting butt

Factors making it lighter:

- Titanium, single legged strippers
- Single legged snakes

Where are you, I'll lend it to you if you like?

Cheers,

B

5g heavier than a Sage TCX 10' #7.

But an extra joint.

CTS use a technique whereby the female ferrule is strengthened so that ferrule wraps are not necessary.
