Hi,

I'm looking for a new clear slow sinking line for coastal sea trout. Anyone who have tried this new one from Rio?
(Want a 6wt line for my go-to sea trout rod, the Sage TCX691 :p)

Cheers,
Grunde

Hi Grunde,

I use Rio Camolux on my 5wt for lake fishing.  Thin diameter, slick, and sinks about 1.5-2 inches per second. Camolux coils much less than the Orvis Intermediate I was using but still needs a good stretch in cold conditions.

It really seems to blend in with slightly stained water.

Thanks Mark,

sounds good. I'll probably get one in 6wt for my salty sea trout fishing.

Cheers,
Grunde

Hi Grunde,

Best clear camo I have used is a Cortland 333, comes off very straight and is still going years later.  TT clear isn't bad either but has slightly more memory.

Cheers

Ben

Hi Ben,

and thanks for the input, at the moment the Cortland website is fucked (some MS SQL server error, yeah who uses such crap anyway :p) so I can not find the info on the 333 line, but I've also heard lots of good tings about this line: Cortland Precision clear (also got the recommendation to go one line weight up on fast/stiffish rods).

My previous clear 6wt line was actually a TT clear, OK line but to light in the tip/front for my taste, but I guess a 7wt would be OK. Think they are made by SA so the coating is probably the same as on the SA stillwater line?

My current line is a SA Professional sink I, which I find to light for my TCX and it sinks to slowly.

I've also used the Snowbee XS clear, which was also good, very little memory, but the color turned milky over time and it didn't last that long (not a big problem)...

Cheers
Grunde

Cortland Little Tunny is a good line that doesn't coil - one of the few.
