Re: Structuring multiple lessons
What I like about coming in with a totally new cast (or “apparently new”) is that we are starting with a clean slate. We don’t have all the so-called “muscle memory” to deal with. Because for the caster it is new stuff. They don’t know we are trying to change something in their existing stroke unle...

Re: DT 9 Intermediate or slow sink line
Thanks Paul, much appreciated. I want the line for an Australian fly accuracy event so "softer" is good.
Thanks again,
John

DT 9 Intermediate or slow sink line
Does anyone know who produces a 9 weight double taper line in an intermediate or slow sink density?
Thanks in advance,
John

Re: Evaluating the Haul
Hi Daniel,
Is translation speed a measure of the horizontal, linear velocity of the hand on the forward delivery cast?
Thanks in advance,
John

Re: OSD
HI John, Could you supply a video of a cast where the elbow goes behind that line across the shoulders? Wouldn't that really hurt? I watched the videos above, and they are all non "US" casters except Steve, and I don't see that in any. To me, while their elbow may open behind the body it ...

Re: OSD
That should come as no surprise John, since I learned it from you and Phil! Totally changed how I analyse and understand casting body movement. It also has given me more line speed on the backcast and enabled me to create some highly specific drills such and “Lift and Flip” and “Lift and Haul and F...

Re: OSD
I agree Paul, well stated.
I sound like a broken record but look at other throwing sports, they use acceleration and braking to generate much more speed that we do.

Re: Movement Skills Overview
Thanks Vince, very much enjoy reading about trout and grayling rivers in UK. You've copped a lot of rain in the last year but the chalk streams will benefit and you should look forward to some good fishing this summer and autumn. We're the opposite unfortunately.
My thanks and appreciation,
John
