Re: Structuring multiple lessons

And…if the bc doesn’t matter and you haven’t taught them how to control a bc loop it still doesn’t matter because the bc doesn’t matter.

So I don’t understand your point 🙂

Re: Structuring multiple lessons

I’m not sure I understand the question Paul. If we have taught people to control loops front and back then, if they find themselves in a situation where the bc isn’t important then they can do what they like on the bc because it isn’t circumstantially important. Don’t have to teach them anything oth...

Re: Structuring multiple lessons

It may be a minor nit picky kind of point on my part Paul but that is not competition accuracy and it is not a passing performance in a CI test. As I said elsewhere we can make a competition out of anything. In my view this tends to drive blocked practice routines which have their place for performa...

Re: Structuring multiple lessons

Trying to discover the perfect cast is a lost hope, but what we learn by trying it is actually what we are seeking.
Some people just like to sit amongst the buttercups Paul…seeking something else. 🙂

Re: Structuring multiple lessons

You say that vertical Is best for accuracy hoops and I agree For competition accuracy hoops yes, left to my own devices, just overhead accuracy at hoops, I would also be hauling. This means that, for me, if you’re teaching to produce the optimal solution for competition accuracy you’re teaching a s...

Re: Structuring multiple lessons

You can make a competition out of anything, a practice drill out of anything, it can be easy, difficult…impossible maybe 🙂. Whatever it is you decide to do it should be relevant to the overall needs and objectives of the caster. I could certainly make a good argument for the benefits of learning how...

Re: Structuring multiple lessons

If there are rules in competition accuracy then the task constraints are invariant. This is true whatever the task, wherever it is held, and whatever you're using to complete it. This is true of instructor assessment tasks too, each one may be different to the next but taken on a one by one basis th...

Re: Structuring multiple lessons

Good edit John...thank heavens for that....I have a deeply visceral objection to being confused with Vince....don't know why...amongst other things I think it's because he's not the same shape as me. I'm sure he feels the same. :) I'm not sure that what were talking about is what may have changed as...

Re: Structuring multiple lessons

Fascinating... :)

I've seen a few accuracy comps in my time, judged a few too. I've never seen anyone change a thing.
