Is the superglue required as a key component of the fly (shellback) or just to glue the head?

I double whip most flies and use no glue. I do suerglue saltwater stuff for added durability.

Paul, thread does not count as i assume it is required for every fly. Relative ranking is more important. I used the zebra midge as an example. A wire rib over a thin thread body. Deadly stupid fly.
