NZ and the Cook islands

Much of much in NZ between Nov and March. Good fishing either but march is warmer and late summer: nob is late soribg and can be rather changeable weather wise.

Work out the cooks and plan NZ around that

Should foreigners pay more to fish in Europe?

Because how do you know where you're going to fish tomorrow Paul? Enough visitors have enough trouble keeping up with regs at the moment. This is simply the easiest to administer with least impact way to go. It's a 24 pkt of beer...

Should foreigners pay more to fish in Europe?

I don't like the spirit of it, and to me it has negative undertones of you're not really welcome here. They've actually just brought out a foreigners license in NZ. I haven't fished NZ for quite a few years - the exchange rate is a bit of a killer now - but I did spend a lot of time out there. Almo...

Bum bags

I use the current simms dry creek hip pack. The main compartment keeps water out well enough and has been submersed a couple of times without probs. The roll top hip pack is fully waterproof and will be my go-to this coming season.

Timaru NZed in late June

Best to head inland. The head of lake tekapo, benmore, or maybe wairepo arm / kellamds ponds offer good stillwater action. Or you could try for a 20lb plus rainbow fishing lumos after dark in the ohau canal.

Movement with nymphs

Spooking with the nymph in NZ - absolutely. But elsewhere where there's a lot more pressure, I think they're used to seeing weird stuff coming down the river! Going to try some CDC legs on my nymphs this month - and yes, define fly fishing :p :p Cheers, Paul I often advocate my clients moving their...

Treating Wet Feet

A heel balm repairs cracked feet. A barrier creme helps protect when wading.

Waterproof backpac

I use the simms dry creek roll top pack. Their guide model has great capacity for backcountry missions too. Waterproof with a comfy harness system.
