Re: Limp nylon
Was listening to a fly fishing podcast recently. The discussion at one point centered on leader material. One of the podcasters stated that he didn't like limp nylon as a leader material because limp nylon doesn't produce as much power as stiffer nylon when casting; therefore, limits the casting di...

Re: Korich Podcast
I teach competition accuracy to all my long term students. Mostly because it’s stresses the importance of a good backcast. But also because it’s fun and improvements are measurable. I can see the difference as being flexibility. I see smoothness. We are looking at the same thing; I shall try your le...

Cheers Lasse I was thinking Rick Hartman. Unbelievable fly caster I’m sure we agree. But he doesn’t perform...

Rick, Bernt, Dmitri, Fredrik in 5WT for example. There is a presence there. That is athletic ability, and smoothness is a big part of it, that ...

Re: Shorter rods for heavy streamer fishing
Definitely more than 9’ would be optimal for single handed distance. Depends on body type and line weight of course but for 6/7/8WT I would think 10’/9’6/9’3(?) would be optimal, or something like that. A 9’6 #7 is a single handed cannon. I would choose a 9’6 #7 MED head 7 as my optimal floating lin...
