Olympus Tough TG-4 camera.
Hi, Just posted a review of this amazing little bombproof underwater camera on my blog. http://www.twigwater.com In brief, it's a compact 16mp pocket camera that's waterproof to 50+feet, drop proof and freeze proof. It's also got GPS and Wi-Fi and records water pressure, air pressure, barometer and ...

November 2016, New Zealand
Last time I went to the South Island was for season opening Oct/Nov. There's no crowds, but occasionally you might get high/dirty water and have to move on. The fish don't seem to spooky compared to what I hear they can be like by late summer. I've had good luck with the weather on all my trips to N...

Flyline Colour
I'm not convinced the colour of the line is big thing, even in NZ. I recently reviewed a cream coloured line (RIO LL) on small streams and, if anything, I found being able to clearly see the line helped with casting and setting up drifts. That said, if it worries you dye the line you have or buy an ...

Global Warming
I'm amazed that people I know still don't believe it even exists.
Paris feels like a start if nothing else and even our very conservative government here is at least no longer pretending it's just some BS cooked up by science types to scare people.
Wait and see.

Polar Bear
Well then only for the historical record ... Leopard was in the museum from who knows when. He should be thrown in the garbage, but I saved some for fly tying history. :pirate: Floats better than CDC. ... everything floats better than CDC :-) Not wrong. I hate the stuff. I have a very little bit of...

The best advances in fly fishing tackle?
I would say flylines are the biggest recent advancement.
Sure, rods are getting better as well, but it's a slower progression then the last couple generations of lines.
The low stretch ones like the RIO Perception are brilliant on the water.

Italian Casting
I think that the main reason it's very effective, David, is because the rod bend is so small during the Casting Stroke the resulting Counter-flex is minimal making the loops much tighter. I see what they're doing, but not how it's much different to quick little hauls to tighten the loop and get the...

Italian Casting
I've seen a bit of this on You Tube and my first impressions was it looked a bit heavy handed for small water.
I wonder would traditional casting with a light rod and light line would be more effective ?
