Big pollack in northern Norway

NOt a lot of kelp there, only close to the shore. The pollack are somewhat of an enigma there. The only three we have caught over three trips, all generously went into double figures. Here are the other two. One of which was nailed on a spin rod and shad. http://i113.photobucket.com/albums/n236/jero...

Canon G series

I am not a fan of a tilted screen. More moving parts means more stuff can break. I am eye-balling the G1. I think that there is no P&S camera at the moment with a larger sensor.

Canon G series

I have a G9 too, great little camera, but lousy resolution at anything higher than iso 80. The G10 and onwards went down in megapixels and up in sensor size, resulting in a briljant little camera with very good resolution. I have used a borrowed G12 a couple of times and I am very excited about the ...

Memory card

Never understood why too much photo-capacity could be a bad thing. Is there something like an overkill, when it comes to memory cards? Less than ten years ago I brought a big pack of rolls of film (100 asa Ektachrome and 64 Kodachrome), setting me back a couple of hundred guilders back then. Now we ...

Memory card

Buy a well known brand, but you don't need an extremely fast card, unless you plan to film with your G12. Speed is very expensive when it comes to memory cards. And beware for duds. There are rip-offs on the market of reputable brand cards. Somewhere in this forum there is a thread about this.

Cheers mate, I grew up fossil hunting with my dad, so I am quite familiar with a lot of them. Belemnites are the cases of squids. Belemnites are straight, unlike ammonites and nautilus (the only remaining relative of that family of animals) which had a spiral housing. As far as I can see, the top ph...

Asp

There's a Dutch biologist who did research on asp vision (they have the best eye-sight of any predatory fish in The Netherlands) and I think age determination. I'll see what I can find. Count me in Skeg. The 'garden of Eden' (Euphrate/Tigris-basin) must be one of the most spectacular, yet undiscover...

Asp

That is another species Zoran. The Asian asp is very similar to 'our' asp. Latin name is Aspius vorax.

Cheers,
