I practice 170 style casting on grass, I have two Sage rods: TCR 960 and Sage Method 970 both have wear on their Hopkins Holloway snake rod guides near the epoxy area (sizes 3-2 and 1) I also have two BVK rods, 690 and 890 and they do not have any wear on their snake rod guides Q1 why this happen ? ...

Hi Paul , if the wind is the cause, it's not fair for all competitors, this event should be done indoor IMO. In calm conditions which should be the longest cast?. Cheers, James
