Altitude adjustments.

Rick, you've got it wrong with humidity. The drier the air, the heavier it is. That's because H20 has lower molecular weight than Both the N2 and O2 that practically constitute air. And these behave like ideal gases so regardless of percentage combination, in same pressure and temperature there is ...

Altitude adjustments.

Higher the altitude = thinner air.
Higher the temperature = thinner air.
Drier the air = thinner air.
Thinner the air = less air drag.
Less air drag = greater distance. And everything will require adjustment

New, old guy, with a question...

How can a rod be illegal?! Cheers, Paul B.A.S.S. Tournament rules; only allow (Max.) 8 ft. rods (With 2 guys on a boat, I understand), and no trolling. Our club as made an exception. Fly fishing only, and allows trolling with a fly & fly rod only (No extra hardware). The rods are a Max. 9 ft. m...

New, old guy, with a question...

I went out after stripers again, today. Nothing to get excited about, a couple of "dinks". The rod and my form were starting to come together, and the line was really "popping". A boat pulled up with a couple of guys I have fished with before. No comment about the rod, except tha...

Found it! The Rio Outbound Short I #7wt, is the ticket. So much so, I'm going to pick up Outbound Short #7 F, & a #7 S6. I took this rod with me on my last striper trip, and was able to throw out to 80', all day (little over 5 hrs.). Poppers, and weighted Clousers... :yeahhh:

Should foreigners pay more to fish in Europe?

Paul Arden wrote:They should just hang a big sign up saying "we don't welcome foreigners any more".
Maybe the sign should say "Keep your dirty money at home!". I'm sure the hotels, restaurants, guides, B&B's, & outfitters, really don't want to make a "Living", anyway...

Should foreigners pay more to fish in Europe?

What does the Board think about a double tiered rod license and permit costs for foreigners? The arguments are, 1) they can afford it 2) they weren't born here 3) no one likes foreigners because they're different 5) we could use the extra money for cleaner rivers and more beer. I'm only thinking ab...

Found a "second-hand" Cabela's LSi 1065-4 Switch Rod at a garage sale, last Friday. It was a little awkward at first, but by going slow I started to get the feel for it. I started with a Rio Outbound Short #8wt., then switched to a Rio Clouser #9wt. The #9wt. loaded the rod heavier and dee...
