Hardy Rods
Exactly! That is our theory too. The idea that thinner wire diameter will produce less friction has a point of diminishing return, where the diameter gets so narrow that it becomes a knife point that digs into the line, preventing or severely slowing the slip.

Hardy Rods
“Wire isn’t cutting it” Hardy has been a staple of my club (affectionately, the Elk River Pirates) for ten years. The smooth, progressive taper and unparalleled power and feel of the Zenith has sent us searching for its blanks for years after the blank was discontinued for reasons we still have yet ...

Leader design for MCI Exam
Hey Sexy Loops, Hope I saw some of you bastards at the ATL fly fishing show this past weekend. Anyway, I'm working with three candidates right now, and we're DEEP into it over the best leader formula. We initially thought the RIO Indicator taper would perform well on the positive curve casts, but it...

instructors, need input PLEASE READ
Guys, I don't have a conspiracy-level deep answer. It's been a conversation among the circle of instructors. We thought it would make a good article in The Loop listening to both sides, and the exceptions to the rule of payment or non-payment (everyone has a few exceptions when they accept payment w...

instructors, need input PLEASE READ
Hello sexy loops community, and Paul especially. I need your help. The editorial board at the Loop is working on an article and I'd love to have any CI or MCI input concerning this series of questions. Do you accept payment for instruction? Do you not? Sometimes? Under what circumstances do you acce...

Single hand spey
I went out yesterday to shoot a sibgle hand spey tutorial, and I had developed a tail on my single progression. Granted, I was using an H2 five with an barstool delta taper (not my usual rod), and the tip is a bit mushy with this heavier line. Thinking I'm going to do a six weight or seven. If singl...

Leader design for traditional spey line
I've got an echo 3 in 13ft. 7wt. I'm lining it with ballistic vector in 6/7 440gr. for THCI prep. For casting on water, what leader and fly formulas can you recommend for the tasks? I can tie pretty much anything.

7 weight rod recommendations
So... went down to Florida to do EDP stuff and test some CIs. My dad stood for his master's patch. Didn't work out but whatever. Anyhow. They hate our rods, to the point where fellow examiners lose confidence in us when they see us pulling out BVKS. BTW, most of them are Sage guys, I mean to the poi...
