Re: WC 2021???
WC 2021 in Sweden cancelled After careful consideration the swedish casting federation have decided to cancel this years WC in flycasting. The ongoing pandemic makes planning an event on this scale very difficult. Mainly because of uncertainty regarding restrictions in travelling and gathering. To s...

Sad news indeed... He was a frequent and well liked participant at many swedish comps and will be missed. RIP.

Re: Q: How does hauling work?
Hi Bernd Why would rsp have to be in the same position? I agree it would be if the rod is stopped completely and immediately at the same position. But the rod is not stopped completely and immediately. The rod rotates a bit further after the "stop" in the hauled cast before it reaches rsp,...

Re: Covered topics /how it works
Hi Joakim I roughly agree 😉 try laying the line on the ground behind you, fully straight, make a slow forward cast throwing what starts as a super tight loop, and watch it morph bigger at the end of the cast. Cheers Lasse You opened my eyes :p I might give it a go this weekend. If I can arrange it ...

Re: Q: Why does a cast “collapse” if the casting stroke is started before the previous loop has straightened?
If the rodleg/straight line have some negative velocity when the forward stroke starts, then there could be a "kinetic capture" I agree. But pulling line through the loop is never going to give a higher linespeed in the end of the forward stroke. There is atleast one possible benefit thoug...

Re: Covered topics /how it works
Loops also morph the other way, ie. from small to big... just throwing that into the mix here 😉 And that has to do with line velocity and where the flyleg is coming from. Cheers Lasse Well.. if the line has more then one velocity just before loopformation anything could happen :sorcerer: ;) But i d...

Re: Covered topics /how it works
This tension, at the top of the loop, that is pulling the flyleg. How does it relate to loopsize? Does it increase or decrease with smaller loops?

Re: Q: Why does a cast “collapse” if the casting stroke is started before the previous loop has straightened?
First of all - this isn't a problem in my casting. It is instead a branch off from this thread: https://www.sexyloops.co.uk/theboard/viewtopic.php?f=11&t=3323#p54992 I don't think my answer is the complete or best, but I do think it is a good starting point in to a discussion about it. I already...
