The reason for wrist use...

Is the reason for wrist use duo to complete/safe/good rotation? I see many casters using a casting style where they tend to do a horizontal abduction in the arm, that is casting with the overarm out to the side, further overarm movement is blocked by the shoulder joint... forcing the caster to rotat...

Understand that Boisker... however... one grip that is good for stability and mobility, not only in the sagital plane, but also the medial plane, I see as important for newcomers... and those with some experience... Is this nothing that is duscussed in the different organisations that is «graduating...

when it comes to underhand casting, single handed, a lot of, or the most of the power is not generated by the wrist, but by lattisimus dorsi/upper arm, a rotation in the shoulder....

Lots of nice posts on the thread... however... if you are to learn someone to use the wrist in casting, and I do not care about if the turnover is early or late, why does someone teach thumb on top or index finger on top, when those have limits in ROM and strength to use a grip with thumb and index ...

After reading many posts here, as well as beeing told that I have a lot of improvemts in my cadting technique (which I think I have), I am wondering if a lot of the adviced given on how to cast/form the loop/give energy to the line, etc etc, or just move the fly leg from A to B, is based on casting ...
