Re: When 10?
Hi Johan, You don't have to use a #10 Hello Nick. Thank you for your answer! The header of my post "When 10" is kept much shorter than my thoughts. I do consider a rating other than 10. I decided to keep my post simple and hope for nuanced answers. And I much hoped for an answer like your...

Re: When 10?
Hi Johan,
You don't have to use a #10, i won the UK trout distance with a 9' '#6' Sage Igniter and an MED5. My advice would be to try the rods you already have, make 10 casts on a relatively consistent day, and see which goes the furthest for you
All the best

Re: Which line weight for a multi rated rod?
I doubt 60 foot casts will be a regular occurance for this beginner on smallish water. And a short shooting head would probably not be easy to cast that distance. Hi Ron, 60' plus casts are often a necessity on small still waters, how short is short in regards to the shooting heads? All the best

Re: Which line weight for a multi rated rod?
Hi Alan,
You could get the #5 or #6 barrio SLX, perfect for throwing weighted streamers, and performing roll casts down the bottom of Snipe etc. Not so good for dries, but then you would use a lighter outfit

Re: Sedotti demo
I agreeBut what I like about this video is focus on late turnover of the rod. It’s not a sudden stop. And you can expand that into stopless delivery and ultimately a full blown 170.

Re: Nicks Bougle
Hi WP, Yes! I like the look and sound of them, and they are absolutely built to last, probably a bit gaudy for a competition reel, but I quite like it 😎 It’s funny you should say that, I like a heavier reel as it gives me a better sense of tracking, if it’s too light I find I swipe the rod out to th...

Hi Fozz,
What size flies are you fishing and how is the back casting space?
