Simple is good for learning how to do. In real time you have limit your cognitive load to that essential for conducting the task ;)

Re: Structuring multiple lessons

Having had a cup of tea, I think that if you do your own top down analysis that it is entirely possible to set your own goals based on your customer community. All of the information is out there for both performance and learning, it’s just a matter of asking the right questions :kungfu: Gotta fly. ...

Re: Structuring multiple lessons

Hi Paul I think that you need a top down evaluation of what you want your instructor to do accompanied by a rationale as to why it is necessary. In some domains this is called a knowledge, skills and abilities specification. Imo, the foundation cast serves the purpose of getting someone onto the wat...

Re: Structuring multiple lessons

If the basic casting stroke is cramping a casters capacity to vary it then they have to learn how to change it so they can. In some quarters, here and in the US, the practice is to teach a basic stroke which is highly limiting. I don’t really understand why. As you know, it’s a practice that sets m...

Re: Structuring multiple lessons

But it doesn’t seem to matter if we introduce Speys before Presentations, or Wind Casts before Shots. Bow and Arrow Cast and B&A Rolls can be included anywhere, although the most logical place to insert them is in Presentations. I don’t have the opportunity to do structured training this way bu...

Re: Structuring multiple lessons

I don’t agree however that it’s always the case that it’s an instructors fault if a caster goes down that track. One of mine went down this path on their own last weekend, he was naturally very analytical and detail orientated individual. I think we default to it as instructors because it’s an obvi...

Re: Structuring multiple lessons

All of the above had similarities but definite differences, and none of the info jibed very well with commonly held theories on casting here on SL... which I think is more advanced BTW. But, apparently, all the disparate ideas seem to help folks become better casters. Could it be so simple as havin...
