Dry Fly Boxes
You are dead right there Karel. The ones I have from Caimore that are a cheaper copy of the CF boxes do float, I know from experience. They have two advantages they can make your hooks rust faster, and you can watch them drift off on the current, rather than see them sink out of site! If you paint t...

Dry Fly Boxes
Recently I put a small piece of magnetic strip in the bottom of each compartment of my dry fly box. Jury still out, but the flies don't fall out if a lid springs.
If you like the CF, but not the price, try these. Sorry Paul still grey. there is always paint, available in lots of colours!

Super Glue Connection
Some time back this came up in a discussion. (Can't be bothered searching the old forum for it). I said then that I had tried it, would again, and report back. Well my usual boat partner, Mike, and myself have been using it for a while. All I can say is I would highly recommend it. It has been by fa...

Hand made Salmon hooks.
Not a huge amount I'm afraid. Top price on them new is about £7.50 for a pack of 10. I wouldn't be surprised if you eBay them and only get £10 per box. Individually hand made hooks can give you the best quality you can get, unfortunately the "handmade" label on the old Partridge hooks mean...

Favourite stillwater midge pattern
Hi Lars,
Makes no difference, flowing or still water, when there are little black bugs about I fish a Little Black Bug!
SbS here!
Of course, even if you tie that, you should carry some Griffith's Gnats.
Cheers,
C.

Scotland - Sept Advice
Hi Simon, If you do get up this way I'm based about 50 mile north of Inverness up the A9. If you like I'm sure we could find some interesting fishing. Please feel free to get in touch. A word of warning, trout fishing can't be compared price for price with England. Just yesterday I paid for a season...
