Re: Teaching Spey

Thanks Paul and Lasse!

Yes, should have stated Spey lessons for fishing with any rod :D

Hopefully out of the dozens of instructors here, they will chip in and we can have a good crack about this.

Cheers

Teaching Spey

Ok guys I’ll try again

How do instructors here go about teaching Spey casting when the emphasis is on the client being able fish that day?

Also, how do you deal with groups of anglers, all with mixed abilities under the same circumstances?

Re: First Lesson

Good thread 8)

How would you approach a Spey orientated session if the goal was to fish that day?

First time you listen to it you won’t agree. But third time in you’ll actually start listening. And then if like me you probably won’t listen to anything else ever again :D

Re: Lockdown Fitness

John did a lock down chest workout video not so long back, one of the exercises was press ups with a band stretched right over his shoulder blades to make them harder, that’s as good as a bench press in these times...;)
Let me know when they land

Re: Lockdown Fitness

When you get the bands you will be able to use them to assist your chin ups, eg doing your sets without them to ultimate failure, then a set or sets with them, like a drop set principle which will get you more reps and principally more work done in total. You will like John Meadows, the fella comes ...

Re: Lockdown Fitness

😄 I’m very fortunate to have the gear at home but I’ve just been ticking over with weights. I go for max pb’s in some lifts twice a year, with bench and squat already been done for this half of the year. To be honest I’m very happy with my strength level now and I’m concentrating on improving fitnes...

Re: Movies of Grant Casting.

You are right Lasse, 65ft with a 21 footer is what was mentioned in the book, I thought I'd read that he'd beaten it some years later. Have you cast a 21 foot rod like these, I'm guessing they were greenheart. Only have had the pleasure of throwing a 21 foot carbon copy thing made by Sage for a bri...
