Rear Tapers

When casting with a shooting head it is easy to check that the longer the overhang the bigger the distance we get. That isn’t just due to an increase in line carry but to the dynamics of the loop: a longer overhang results in a longer time of loop turnover which results in more distance shot. Hi Ai...

Hi Bernd

I've only tried the prototype Paul had in Serbia last spring. So I'd rather not make any judgement on it :D

But to be honest, I would be very surpriced if I could put 2 meters on top of what I can get from the MED, the RIO doesn't even get me that in good conditions :)

Wind outdoors vs indoor flycasting

and the right conditions, well into the 40's Hi Lasse, this leads a bit into the question, what would have to be changed, to increase the results that much? Seems to me like 120 feet indoors is a huge cast with the 5wt. MED. Greets Bernd Hi Bernd 7 years ago you didn't think anybody could throw 120...

Wind outdoors vs indoor flycasting

Hi Sasse It depends in the indoor venue :) Big enough, and the right conditions, well into the 40's Cheers Lasse Do you really think it effects the casting? I have only cast 3 competitions indoor and i have performed almost the same at al different times. I have hard to see that the air humidity an...

All those guesses about length with different methods is pretty useless when its outdoor. Just my two cents :) It would be very interesting to se the same casters indoors and measure the lengths. Hi Sasse I'd recommend you do a bit of research into a competition they used to have in the States, cal...
