Bamboo rods. Casting into the wind

Hi Aitor, I do not believe in such a test: Highest avg. 30,12m Orvis T3 Lowest avg. 29,06m Streamstix T5 1s up to 3,18 :ninja: Problem is when you measure until the fluff: Leader straight = + 2,5m & leader collapsed = -2m So only with the leader you can produce 4,5m in difference while lines end is...

Haul adjustment, when to stop rod & line hand

Hi Lasse, You are right, we have a bit of a different view about where the tip path significally changes in relation to the trajectory you are achieving in that cast (in your video linked above): :) http://www.first-cast.de/WebPics/HaulingLaunch.jpg Greets Bernd p.s.: Paul, is there a possibilty to...

Haul adjustment, when to stop rod & line hand

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHH  Well that was one post down the drain.... Here's the shorter version. Hi Bernd I think it's safe to say we have a different oppinion about when the rodtip changes direction significantly :D Here's a pic from the first ...

Haul adjustment, when to stop rod & line hand

Hi Bernd I would like my peak haul speed to happen after the stripper has hit it's peak speed, and is slowing down. I really like it to hit peak as the rodtip changes direction, so I would get the highest linespeed. This would also be the point I'd like to release the line. [vimeo]26927235[/vimeo] W...

Haul adjustment, when to stop rod & line hand

Hi Bernd

Why do you want haul and stripper to coincide in Max speed?

Joining sections of different rods...

Hi Akos

Paul's not really a good standard for this, he breaks matched rods on the first cast too :D

That's why he has to mix sometimes :p

If the parts fit, no worry, if they don't, leave it....

Cheers

Haul adjustment, when to stop rod & line hand

Hi Paul

If the sun comes out tomorrow around noon I'll shoot some casts with a shorter line from the other side and in higher speed (camera) as well.
If not it'll have to wait for sometime next week...

Haul adjustment, when to stop rod & line hand

I'm not talking distance casting. here the haul no doubt accelerates all the way through with enough force to retard the tip straightening. I'm talking false casting with a haul on a shorter carry. I can feel RSP because the tension disappears during the haul. Can you video yourself of a 40 ft gent...

Shooting heads

There was also a datasheet for singlehanded rods, basicly the same a bit shorter :D Did you ever come across the version Henrik Mortensen made first at Loops, then later at Scierra? That one had to do with how tall you where :p Hi Lasse, the single hand recommendations are on the second half of the...
