Re: Lars FP about the bullhsitting line manufacturers

How did you get on with the target shots, Lasse? Cheers, Paul Had a go today, you must be old :D Starting with the flyline tip at 20 feet from my feet to have a reference point for all casts, and placing target at 40/60/85 feet to see, striping in to 20 feet between shots. Same leader on both lines...

Lasse - the shooting heads I use on my 15' two hander were heavy enough to break a 9' 4-wt Loop-rod :-).

L
As I said, faulty design or mishap prior with the rod....

Quite sure your scandi heads are lighter than my comp heads 😉

Re: Lars FP about the bullhsitting line manufacturers

Re: Lars FP about the bullhsitting line manufacturers

Lasse - yes, I’ve tried to break several rods with heavy lines and succeeded once. I’ve broken a few rods casting “normal” lines while certainly not trying to. L Cool, never succeded, and I have heavier lines than most 😂 Broken rods while casting have almost always been down to faulty rods, either ...

Re: Fly Rod Guides

Worn snake rings, don't we all have a huge history of that 😂 And yeah, impact resistance of sics and similar seem to be not so high, but I've never worn a groove into one.. And I do spinfish etc. Two identical rods (preferavly three) with torzite on one and sic on second (and snakes on third) and th...

Re: Fly Rod Guides

Ah, yeah, the connection hanging up has been a problem on single legs since they where introduced, and it does seem to be the angle mostly causing it, as all single leg snakes have it, the recoils just seem to make it worse because they can move... And the old lifted ones where really crap, as the l...

Re: Fly Rod Guides

They have a tendency to screech with dry lines. Having said that, apart from when fishing shooting heads, I think recoils are far superior just for the lighter weight. Cheers, Paul What's with shootingheads? I really dislike single leg recoils, and the weight save is not enough for me to change my ...
