Re: Lars FP about the bullhsitting line manufacturers

Lasse - the shooting heads I use on my 15' two hander were heavy enough to break a 9' 4-wt Loop-rod :-).

Suggested method for measuring lines

Hi All! In order to get the fly line database off the ground, we need to settle on a standardised way of measuring the lines, and I have had a bit of a think. Let me know what you think (especially you physics-geeks). Length: I suspect any length measuring device is precise enough? I have a few diff...

Re: Lars FP about the bullhsitting line manufacturers

Lasse - yes, I’ve tried to break several rods with heavy lines and succeeded once. I’ve broken a few rods casting “normal” lines while certainly not trying to.

Re: Lars FP about the bullhsitting line manufacturers

So, Lasse, when you make a long cast, do you go for the heaviest line you can possibly carry on your rod, or one with which you can get a proper line speed without breaking your rod?

Line speed is king - mass is queen :-).

Re: Lars FP about the bullhsitting line manufacturers

Hmm, you may be right that Teeny was before SA... I can't remember, I know that SA made it at some point, and I *think* it came before the GPX. Again, not sure. Where's Bruce when you need him :-).

Re: Lars FP about the bullhsitting line manufacturers

If memory serves, SA brought out the Lefty Kreh-taper (I can't remember the exact name) and I *think* that preceded the GPX.

Re: not new to the board - TZ - a thx to Paul and all

One can always have a great philosophical discussion with Paul! Last autumn he and I had a discussion on whether luck was real or not. Paul's position was that it certainly is (mine was the opposite). Paul argued his case with a friend he had who (as I remember it) won the lottery twice, and hence h...

Re: Truck

I think you're right, Boisker - and my problem is I can't stand that dry, cold air from and air-con - so I sweat - and suffer - and hydrate :-).

Re: Truck

Graeme - as I remember the test, one of the arguments apart from the colour of the interior was that the heating happens through the windows more than through the body of the car. Can that explain the difference between your's and your wife's car? I'll have a look and see if I can find the test (whi...

Re: Truck

There was a big report done by a Danish motor-owners association about the internal temperatures on cars left in the sun. In short, their conclusion was the colour of the car was on minimal importance. However the colour of the interior was of quite high significance. Just FIY :-). Congrats on the n...
