Sage Igniter 9' #6

Hi all, I bought this rod recently, and i have to say, it's an awesome rod. I used to have a Sage X, but i took it back after a few days, as i found the butt far too soft, and the tip far too stiff. I didn't try the whole X series, only the 9' #6. With the igniter, i tried it in a few...

Re: Shooting line while fishing

Wow, what a great resource you wrote, Paul! That is highly extensive, have you thought about publishing that?!

Haha, quite! That's such a shame mate, theres already a plethora of 'carp' and coarse fisheries around.

Re: Averaging 118' with a #5

Thanks man! Yes i did see that gif and it's really cool, the stroke just feels great as most of the forward stroke is made behind you, and for some reason, i really dig this :)

Re: Shooting line while fishing

I was never taught to do this Nick; very few people actually start fly fishing with a lesson! It took me 15 years to get round to my first one That's very true mate, i know Mel encouraged people to just go out and try it without a guide etc. Just to experience something, what a wonderful philosophy...

Re: Shooting line while fishing

So this is obviously something that we have not been teaching very well Maybe they have been self taught and that's all they know, as you say, it doesn't come naturally. Most experts on you tube don't actually do it, and i think a lot turn to that platform to learn things. I have found that ...

Averaging 118' with a #5

Hi all, Thanks to James and Paul i am averaging 118' with a #5 after only a few months of hard work  When i feel like I've hit it perfectly, i run to the end of the tape thinking it's going to be a massive improvement and it ends up being 119' My technique for this is to use a full ROM...

Re: Being fit

Christ Paul! Shingles is incredibly painful (so I've heard) Pleased you are back on track, are you weight lifting at the same time you are cycling? Now that would be cool!

Re: Q: Fast/slow/tip/butt/stiff/soft rods

Hi Merlin, Yes, that photo is quite funny 😃 That's interesting, and it would be noticeable. After all, I can tell if someone doesn't play in time, or if their left and right hand isn't in sync, and this is always in milliseconds (for good musicians) and never in seconds. 🙃 I have obviously done test...
