Re: Thoughts on the Hardy HBX, good rod!

Hi Lasse, I'm sure you know :upside: Tip action rods flex in the upper third :pirate: I find that anglers do exchange terms a lot. My feeling is that Fast, medium and slow describe the recovery of the rod, and tip-through action describe how a rod bends when it is flexed and loaded. What rod do you...

Re: Thoughts on the Hardy HBX, good rod!

The Arden stroke? :sorcerer: I have seen a lot of people use an open stance or sideways stance for short distances. Just seems a bit strange to me. :ninja:

Re: Greeting and salutations from the UK!

Welcome Nick! It's nice to see other musicians here. I play surdo drums in the band Yakumbé since twenty years now and the drum set for another 20 in various punk bands. We're on Spotify if you care to have a listen. https://open.spotify.com/artist/4M4yU0kAKBCIxg3SwrqVRE Hello! Thank you very much,...

Re: Thoughts on the Hardy HBX, good rod!

It's a funny one isn't it, i used to think really hard about the casting movements, and then i relaxed, and everything came together :pirate: very interesting regarding the torque twist, i do this when i'm doing spey casting with a single handed rod, especially the single spey! I think you do too, b...

Re: Greeting and salutations from the UK!

I have always thought about building one for myself, don't have the time i'm afraid! I could make a small continuo organ, but that's a bit of a chore! Haha! It would be, especially with the technology in 5G, everyone can play together no matter where they are in the world, pretty awesome. Never thou...

Re: Thoughts on the Hardy HBX, good rod!

I'll tell you my own experiences with the pulling stroke. I too thought it was the most efficient, and it certainly produces some pretty loops especially with some sort of extended drift/layback. Many years ago I had a phone call from a competition caster in the UK who wanted a lesson to see if he ...

Greeting and salutations from the UK!

Hello everyone, I hope you are all very well indeed! My name is Nick, and i have been fly fishing for some 15 years now (i'm 23) and i absolutely love it. Dare i say it, i actually prefer the casting to the fishing! :pirate: I currently fish for trout at a local club in the midlands. I used to fish ...

Re: Thoughts on the Hardy HBX, good rod!

I find this pulling/pushing a bit strange. A short while ago someone told me I am not pulling. I believe it’s all in the head. In my head I am mostly thinking about pulling the line with the rod tip. How do you see if someone is pulling or pushing? Cheers, Bart I think Paul explained it the best wi...

Re: Thoughts on the Hardy HBX, good rod!

Hi Nick, welcome to the Board :D Cheers, Paul Thank you, Paul! The reason for this is the fact i use a pull through stroke (as Mel Krieger said "like throwing a javelin") which you can't do with a tip action rod, you have to push them through the stroke Hi Nick, I think we met at Sportfish - I was ...
