Re: An observation

HI John and Lasse and thanks for your answers.

John, why do you use weights in the bottom of the blank?

Re: An observation

Hi Lasse, I dont believe there is a free lunch out there. I really don´t. But, I do find it interesting that the Americans, who so dominate accuracy in particular, seems to use tackle that are rather different than the tackle others are using. And I also get the impression from what Chris Korich say...

Re: An observation

Hi again and thanks for your answers. In Sweden there is a flyfishingbrand called Sameo. A couple of years ago they made some rods designed by a former swedish competition caster called Gunnar Rask Nielsen (he also designed some rods for Fenwick). Anyway, some of these rods (the heavier ones) had a ...

An observation

Hi everybody, I have been watching some youtube clips with Maxine throwing for accuracy. I have noticed that (1) she uses a flyrod with a downlocking reelseat and (2) that she grips the rod high up on the handle. Why? I like to grip the rod as close to the reel as possible to minimize the feeling of...

Re: WC2022

Hi everybody!

I very much would like to see some casting by Maxine. Particularly her perfect round in accuracy. Did anybody here shoot it?

Re: Rod/ line grain weights
Fine for a fishing rod, though, same with pianos, I don’t like Steinway, I like Bosendorfer. I can still play Rach no.3 in Dm on both. 😉 All the best
Ah, is there a fellow Bach-enthusiast on the board? And since you prefer a Bosendorfer, do you like Andras Schiff as well? :) Cheers...

They are great for ironing out some of the flaws in our cast that doesn't show up so much with a normal wf, so they are also a good teaching tool in various forms.
Hi Lasse! Could you please elaborate on this subject? What flaws are you talking about?

Re: A different (?) view on rod-design.

Hi John,

Do you think that there are any advantages to rods with solid tips? Do they have some unique casting-properties that ordinary rods do not have?

Cheers Thomas
