5wt distance troubles
Hi mate, Place the rod on the ground in front of you, walk around to the other side and see where it points. Can you elaborate that a bit more for me. I seem to be having a mental block where I can't follow it :D Do you mean make a forward cast, let it drop to the ground, place rod down where fwd s...

Problems with my casting at the moment. Hoping I can get some help. 1. on my delivery the last 10ft or so of line is generally kicking to the left, sometimes landing in a full 90 deg angle to the main line. Am right in thinking this is caused my something early on in my forward stroke? I'm using the...

Thanks Michal and Lasse, looks like the Barrio head it is. I'll try with the 9wt rod I have until I can get a new tip or build a stiffer rod. Are you trying to constantly balance mono thickness between shoot ability and ease of handling. For a total beginner to casting heads like myself, is there mu...

This is interesting :D My default thought I that I have to slow down when using softer rods. Although I should preface that with the fact I'm a shit caster. Years ago in NZ after casting the TCR5 and the FT5, I tried one of Christian Strixner's cane rods. First time casting cane for me and I honestl...

Are there any restrictions on diameters etc. What do you use Lasse, James, Bart (not Paul cos he's hasn't made his mind up :D ) Would a...

What setup do I need to get into this? Barrio's ST27 head a good place to start or make my own. Got a few unused lines here.
What about shooting line/backing and rod weights?
Cheers
