Re: The Predicament of Buying the Right Fly Line
I don’t doubt anything you say Paul. This whole discussion seems to be around the mess of choosing a fly line, because makers are mostly not conforming to the AFTMA system. I don’t have a very strong opinion on the matter but think some of the arguments are not very strong. You think it is a problem...

Re: The Predicament of Buying the Right Fly Line
Hi Paul. No, I have not experimented with this. In your article you wrote that a heavier line is less sensitive. So I was wondering how this translates to someone having more than 30ft outside the rod tip. I guess if the line is heavier at 40,50 or 100 feet, it will also be less sensitive. So even i...

Re: The Predicament of Buying the Right Fly Line
Hi Paul. Nice article. You wrote “the heavier the line the less fishing sensitivity you have”. Are the long belly lines also less sensitive at distance? Is you article only aimed at fishing at 30ft? Are you not just highlighting a limited use case? When fishing at larger distances a couple of grams ...

Re: WC - overall
I hope something can be done to minimize the wind factor. How is this handled in other outdoor sports like javelin throwing? A couple of weeks before the WC I competed in a BFCC meeting and was unlucky with the wind. After that a decided not to go to the WC. It also interfered with my summer holiday...

Re: Best of the west casting competition BOTW
Hi Lasse,
There where qualifying rounds.
Some of them where outdoors. Maybe he threw that distance in one of them.
As far a I remember Steve has the longest indoor Best of the West cast. About 125ft.
Cheers Bart

Hi Michal.
I asked the same question on Facebook. Apparently at a certain moment Italy was planning to organize it. This is not happening and Norway is organizing it. It’s the WC for “fishing tackle” so our cup of tea

Re: Instructors platform
There aren’t many who coach flycasting sport, Bart, that’s for sure. Since many instructors shun casting sport, an “instructors platform” is probably not what you want. What you would need is a flycasting sport instructors’ platform. People like me share everything but not everyone is the same as m...
