Fishing Kent

Does anyone have tips for fishing in Kent?
I will be there from tomorrow (19th September) for a week.

I found this http://www.chilhammillestate.co.uk/?page_id=340. Fishing in the river Stout. Is it worth checking out?

Cheers, Bart

I completely get what you are saying Ben.
The speed thing makes sense and I tried it, but I keep falling back in old habits :)
But this is just the beginning. If my blister is gone I will nail this thing :)

Thanks for the input. @Ben. I agree. The tip is also wobbling a lot in the FC. There still seems to be a fundamental difference in the style you guys are using and I can not lay my finger on what it exactly is. I have been watching some videos of Paul and my casting just seems a lot less fast. Maybe...

Hi Dirk,

Thanks. It would be awesome if you want to make a graphic analysis!

I am no physics expert, but that high hand position can't be to optimal stance to apply power. I should change that.

Hi Ben.

I tried. I also noticed it's a bit high, but it feels uncomfortable holding it lower.
Maybe I should try it for a longer period.

Some extra info.

The second forward cast is the one on which I end up carrying the full line.
Is it not easy to see but there is big bunch of knots in the running line which end up in my hand after the second forward cast.

Hey Guys. I made a video of my practice session from today. It is a full DT #5 carry measured at 27,5m. As usual when looking back at the video I did something totally different then I thought. :D I thought I was casting like Paul, but I wasn't. Anyway here is the link to the video. http://bartdezwa...

Practise tips

Hi Lasse,

I had it at the backing knot and measured it because I couldn't believe it. It was 27.5m.
It might be nice to make a video of it then.

Will try the #3

Practise tips

Thanks for the input and compliments guys. And wow Bernd! those are some really nice words and I really appreciate them. :) The idea is to learn some different styles and grab what works best for me. I will post some video's of my sessions soon. Last Sunday I tried to carry a full DT #5 (27.5m) with...
