I think we can cast longer and fish longer time without unnecessary weight. IMO adding heavy reel to balance rod for "swing" or nymphing is not clever but building a longer handle is.

I have four OutBounds and two Max heads and they are not like the profile picture. About five feet front and rear tapers and level in between. But floating and Intermediate AFS has about 2/3 of head weight in rear half. Sinking AFS have less weight difference between front and rear half.

Seems to be too heavy fly for that head weight. Also for 8wt DH I use at least 525gr head and usually T14 tip for SA casting.

You cannot easily find XP-like action among current high performance rods because higher modulus carbon makes them lighter and stiffer. TCR weight is close to XP weight but it is much stiffer.
