Re: Tracking and Loop planes
I can't remember anyone to have disagreed with that not being a problem. The double negative in this statement is confusing, but I am saying it's not a problem to do it if it's intentional and the reasons for doing it are appropriate. Again, what is the intent of the action? If the end result is de...

Re: Tracking and Loop planes
What I do remember instead is, that Lasse as well as others said, that once main launch direction for the fly-leg is set, tip position to get pulled sideways has nearly no impact. That means the force applied via rod-leg can't have any impact worth to talk about. If that's correct, a video prove sh...

Re: Tracking and Loop planes
And even this is not from directly above. It's from above and behind the caster (we can see the caster's back.)

Re: Tracking and Loop planes
I wish I had a drone to satisfy your request. I can shoot front on or from behind, both of which might satisfy your need to show a vertical loop. Anyway, looking at your pic from above. If this were my student and they were seeking perfection in their cast, I'd be working on the minor tracking error...

Re: Tracking and Loop planes
Hi Graeme, Your fine sketch doesn't show any tip path, so how would Paul know about the tracking here? 🤔 .... Hi Bernd, I usually consider my words pretty carefully when I post here. When I stated the following in the same post, I assumed Paul would be able to imply the tip path from the conditions...

Re: Tracking and Loop planes
And here is the same caster with a nearly vertical rod, choosing the same suboptimal rear target. This is the classic tracking error that we all recognise. IMG_0910.jpeg For me, these are both tracking errors, producing similar line layout errors for the same reason and with the same solution to cor...

Re: Tracking and Loop planes
Tracking for me relates to the path of the rod tip relative to the surface/plane the rod moves through. For me tracking can therefore be straight or curved, irrespective of our preferred geometry constraints. Hi Paul, I understand your point of view. Can I ask how you’d define the following error p...

Thanks Bernd.Bernd Ziesche wrote: ↑Sat Mar 02, 2024 12:22 pm Thanks Graeme,
That makes all sense now. I like the use of the Nike logo.
