Re: Change leverage

I'm not a physicist, but it depends upon where the fulcrum is. As long as the fulcrum is on the end and the force is near it, it probably remains a class 3 lever. https://images.app.goo.gl/4VFhJRx74eSL9swq8 Thanks Carol I also think it's as you say, it's probably just balance adding weight, probabl...

Change leverage

The question might be silly, increasing the weight of the rod heel and decreasing the weight of the tip, moving the grip point, would the lever change class? has anyone tried?

Re: Waypoints

Hi Ivan, Depends what you are comparing here. If we are to land the anchor on the water and then compare snaplift switch to switch without the snaplift, then the snaplift goes further. This is because of the way the anchor folds over and lands. We are talking several metres difference with trout ta...

Re: Waypoints

I use this thing from time to time to change direction, but for a normal cast it does not work, it is dangerous and also not very efficient, if we compare it to what you could do without using it, if you want to have a good cast, the fly or line must still lay back, thus eliminating the utility, I ...

Re: Waypoints

Not perfect Dirk. Had to deal with a front coming through so had to put myself between the camera and the loop. These are aerielised “anchors” which is immediately what came to mind when I read your first post today. Cheers, Paul I use this thing from ti...

https://youtu.be/4pYq5n-Rd-s Are you referring to this? I meant that, I apologize because the videos are made with one hand and not with suitable equipment, it is only demonstrative to understand. https://youtu.be/i7XJvCwNFsg Sorry the first video I was wrong to paste the link, I meant this. https:...

Re: Collapsed Casts

Ladies and gentlemen, The current discussions where Graeme is collapsing a cast brought up a few points where James said this was how we all do it and Gary mentioned an Underpowered Curve Cast as an example. In Gary’s example I think that is a big transverse wave travelling down the line that stops...

Re: Focus Points

Do you mean the wave/s at the bottom of the loop, Ivan? I try to eliminate that. In fact I try to eliminate that through rod design! But if you mean the bottom of the loop point through counterflex, well that can be pretty sexy! I spend a lot of time shaping loops with carry. In fact I’m off to do ...
