Love them, or hate them? The future, maybe?

Saw them at last years EWF. Some french dude had custom rods with those handles and told me about the usefulness for nymphing. Like feeling the nymph rattling on the ground. The grip was not too bad, but it might get slippery when Wetter.

SFTS - Sexyloops Fly Tying School

Hi Thomas, great fly, again. Gonna give it a try, as I really like the type of tying without an "antron stem to wind a hackle around"! When talking emergers, is there a special way to fish them? My klinkhammers float really good, so I usually fish them "dry-fly upstream no-dreg"-...

Bernd's video

Hi Bernd, great first Video, still some things to consider: General narrative aspect was mentioned before, so I won't comment on that. However a fish porn does need a story, but the video does not fit into that category. I think length is important because as the editor you tend to add all those cli...

Welcome Bruce Richards

Hi Bruce, thanks for sharing your knowledge about fly line design and development on the board, it is much appreciated! Here's a list of questions: There is a number of different opinions about line cleaning around. Of course we all need "special lubricants" to prevent damage to those high...

Global Warming

I'm totally biased towards the results of the paris summit, as I'd love to believe something is gonna change but actually nothing is gonna happen too soon. At least this might raise some sort of awareness but governments and industries will find ways to sneak out and keep on their dirty business. Ge...

Needs - FP by Thomas

Hey Thomas, Really enjoyed your frontpage about needs, especially as there is so much truth in it... When I started the whole flyfishing stuff 3 years ago I also started fly tying and of course bought all those unessential things just because they existed. Looking back my essential patterns are PTNs...

IFFF Casting Definitions

Hi all, as a senior casting novice I'm glad the IFFF adds another bucket to the cocktail of confusion within casting nerds heads. The only good point is, that from now on I can creep around as much as I want and call it casting finesse. :p I think we might add the term crift (pronounced "creeft...

Crazy Wader Prices

I hesitated buying expensive breathables and went for a pair of PVCs. The idea was to replace them once they started leaking... well, 3 years later they still do an excellent job. With fleece pants they even worked for seatrout fishing in spring in denmark. Only pain in the arse is hot summer days a...
