Hauling roughly doubles the line momentum and simultaneously narrows the line loop!

10WT fly reel suggestions
I like Danielsson F3W 7ten! High spool volume, light weight and reliable brake. I also like the full cage frame because I use shooting heads often and thin shooting line does not go to wrong places and when the spool does not have any brake components wetting nylon SL can be done soaking spool to ho...

Loop knots for ends of a poly leader?
I have kept the rear loops like the come but to front end I tie 2mm tippet ring for trout polyleaders and 3mm for salmon/saltwater polys where tippet is then tied. Using Uni-knot with tippet ring is stronger than Nylon and Fluorocarbon loop knot connections.

Fly rod deflection
To me it looks like there first was an observation which actually seems to be there which then lead to a theory which is not there. If rod has a full action this circle size change ends bigger.

Flyline Colour
If a flyline has 2mm diameter the sun guits causing any shadow when the line is 0,23m above the surface because the sun (projection) size is only about 0,5 decrees so there will be just shadowing which lessens when the distance keeps increasing.

Late Tails
Usually I begin to cast late tailing loops towards the end of the day when I use heavy setup and I think its because my rod arm becomes more tiring than line arm so casting stroke ends later than haul. Also when I have had rod arm elbow and shoulder problems I have cast late tails.

line sticks to the blank
Paul, do you twist to the left towards you? I remember seeing a picture in an old forum where was a "hauling groove" on first stripper wrapping coating and then I thought it was possible only when guides were turned CCV when looking from rod butt.

Glass resurgence?
Do you think resonant frequency has an impact? Glass would probably be lower and perhaps a greater dampening force. D I don't know that field of physics but I believe the frequency fish makes is well below what rod has. If not the fish is way too small and could release itself as soon as possible :...

Glass resurgence?
I say lightness and flexibility protects tippet. Flexibility should be clear for everyone. Physically light tip and light rod too reacts faster because of less moment of inertia. Fast rod tip should be and usually is lighter than slow action rod tip because tip has proportionally more bend and there...

Glass resurgence?
This wouldn't be an issue in this case because glass is so much more durable. Power and light tippet protection all in one stick. I don't fully buy this! Often yes when same rating carbon and class rods are compared because class rods usually are softer. But when they have same stiffness the carbon...
