Re: Rice Bubble cast, Snap, Crack, and Pop
Hey Morsie I'd suggest two possible issues: 1) Timing as mentioned above. 2) The other thing is something Aitor has in one of his videos, and which has been helpful to me: If the angle of the portion of the D-loop coming off the water is too steep, that can result in a slipping anchor. I think this ...

Re: Using Video while teaching
Good plan!
I don't have a fixed filming point but I do have a tripod with and iPad adaptor. I film the learner and then stand exactly where they cast from, and make the cast. Good for comparisons and overlays.

Re: Rod reviews
My take on Lasse’s video is: 1) the effect of rod action on loop shape is much less than we think 2) however, there is a small effect on loop shape (driven by counterflex) to which we are very sensitive I think that’s it. This was/is ground-breaking because none of us would have predicted such a sma...

Re: Teaching method
Apologies for not submitting a thorough scientific review here 😁. My aim was to make the point that both “learning styles” and Myers-Briggs are controversial. My view is that any fly casting instructor who tries to ascertain someone’s “preferred learning style” and tries to stick slavishly to it, wi...

Totally agree about Hudl. It’s a brilliant way to build detailed awareness of movement. For me awareness is the key!

This one is interesting as it covers impacts on reproduction of poor handling.

Re: Lars FP about the bullhsitting line manufacturers
I must say it puzzles me why we have to have a standard in the first place. Just tell us what the head weighs in grams, and how long it is, and then rod manufacturers can tell us what range of line weights they think work for their rods. Another thing that puzzles me is why rod manufacturers think i...

Re: Progressive rod?
I’d buy that rod Lasse. Mainly for the cuppa.
