Re: 6 step TEACHING method

I always thought of the 6 steps as a tool for the teacher. A little guidance as to how to analyze a problem.

Re: Longest measured 5WT casts?

I know Steve Rajeff made a cast of around 38.5m indoors at a Best of the West competition. However, I can’t find those results online.

Re: The Predicament of Buying the Right Fly Line

Thanks for the link George.
I indeed already thought it was James who first mentioned it.

I very much believe this to be true and it would clarify some things for me.

Re: The Predicament of Buying the Right Fly Line

Hi Paul, I do not fully understand your last post. Why do you say “if the fly is moving (in air) I think it can be assumed to be straight”? We all experience sack right? I would think this is greater when having 60ft of line out as opposed to 30ft. For me it would make sense that the greater the sac...

We swap the rods and me because I know how to cast I got faster use of 30' head.
Never mind my last question. If I read it well you would go for the 30ft head.

Hi Michal,
What would you answer if the guys can cast equally well?

Sage R8 Core

So this rod is out there for a while now.
I am currently not meeting people who own the latest gear.
So out of curiosity. Any one had his hands on this latest and greatest Sage rod? What do you think of it?

Old SA sharkskin chainsaw

I have an old SA sharkskin ultimate trout fly line.
The taper is the same as the current SA Standard and I like it.
When casting it, it sounds like a chainsaw. Did anyone experience some excessive wear on the guides when using this line?
