Re: Two heads cast at the same time

Great again, thanks a lot Lee Clearly one is faster than the other, but which one? The normal way I guess. And in both cases. Now the problem is to know about the taper. Like Paul I cannot see any info on their site. Do we have to find a way to measure that taper? Merlin I could mic it every 1ft an...

I'll take a wild guess and say the one with the dodgy loop is the reversed one in each case. I don't think any company would release a line that would cast like that! :)

Graeme
It’s fine on it’s own, even the wrong way round 🤓

Re: Two heads cast at the same time

Hi Lee, I can't seem to find any info on the taper online. Is there a diagram on the box? Cheers, Paul I knew “out of the box” would come back to bite me... :D :D The box was thrown away a long time ago I’m afraid. basically it’s triangle taper style with a level section of belly near the back. Che...

Re: Two heads cast at the same time

Hi Paul
I will repeat the exercise (twice) and post the videos, however next time it will be with two heads from a different company.

I have two heads which I think sit in between the Scandi and Long Head Spey with regards to weight distribution.

Re: Two heads cast at the same time

The black lines crudely illustrate the cutting points described above.

Re: Two heads cast at the same time

Both heads were cut to exactly 60ft (18.2m) mainly by losing some of the original front taper (as it’s very difficult to cast when reversed). Both heads have the complete back taper plus 1ft of level running line. The leader was also 6ft giving a total length (including 1ft of shooting line overhang...

Re: Two heads cast at the same time

Will the position of the tapers in each line interact and affect the tension in the other line, given that they were both connected to the same shooting line?
