Max distance indoor or no wind

#1

Post by bartdezwaan » Fri Apr 13, 2018 6:27 pm

Hi guys.
Today I have been practicing my #5 distance since a long time and it looked promising.
I am wondering what you guys think is a nice benchmark nowadays when aiming for a podium in a casting competition.

I noticed the Talin winner had a distance of 34.44m (well done Dimitri).

What are you guys aiming for when casting without wind. I know it is difficult to say, but I am just curious about you opinions and see if anything changed since I competed in the WC 4 years ago.

Cheer, Bart

I haven’t cast indoors for many years. Dmitri is right at the top of the game so whatever he is throwing would be the mark.

Cheers, Paul

The Norwegian indoor season is just over, have a look at their distances from their 5 weight cup.

I think it depends a lot on the temperature too.
I'm here just for the chicks.

To be honest I don't think much has changed in ten years. I think the physical limits are constrained by the tackle and while it may be possible for each of us to throw a little further, and after all we are all getting better :p, I don't expect there suddenly to be another jump.

But who knows? I would love to be able to cast indoors regularly. Not a possibility here.

Cheers Paul
