Due to the expense of the MED I'm a bit loathe to retire them, hence my practice line is pretty much black and limp around my carry point. I've also noticed that I now struggle to carry what I think is the optimum (or perhaps my casting has gone down hill).

I have not really seen a differece, unless there's a differing in taper and headlength. Still have and use a 9 year old version, that made it to 4 world championships, before a rule change made it illegal to use

Sorry Bart; I forgot to measure this up. Was in packing hell. Will try this week and certainly by Sunday at the latest.

I don’t think I lose carry length with an old line. When the coating starts peeling off around the hauling area I change it.

Cheers, Paul
It's an exploration; bring a flyrod.

No problem.
I think my casting was just a bit crappy.
After changing a couple of things I believe I am carrying more now. Will try to measure this week.

Cheers, Bart
