Hi guys,
What rods are people using for this event? I use a 9’6 T27/38 Rampage Poker. It’s a bit of a beast. The HT12 might be a better candidate, but maybe 10’ is a better option?
Cheers,
Paul

Re: Sea trout distance rods
At BFCC events I'll often use the same 9ft #10 rod for the #5, #7 and ST27 events. I do also have a 10ft rod for the ST27 depending on how I'm feeling on the day (my PB was set with the 10ft rod).

Re: Sea trout distance rods
I am using the Atomsix ST27 10ft. But you (Paul) found it too soft last time you tried it at a BFCC meeting.
It isn't super stiff in the tip. I would like to try something softer in the bottom section and stiffer in the tip.
Cheers, Bart

Was using a 9'6" 8 weight echo e3 for donkeys years, changed to a echo e3 salt 9 feet 10 weight last summer.

Re: Sea trout distance rods
I've used:
CTS Revo #10 10' 4-pc white. This is quite heavy and very stiff. I remember in 2012 Fagernes final when I had too light and long line (initially cut from #8 GT125 to weight and then shortened for the final) that was almost impossible for me to make the back cast into the wind with this rod.
Echo Extreme Distance 10' #8 (which is maybe 12cm shorter from the tip than originally, the tip broke just above the first SF snake guide which I removed and put new tip top). This is on the soft side of rods I guess.

I'm here just for the chicks.
