My interest in improving my casting came from a workshop hosted by our local club with Tim Rajeff as a guest. This is where I discovered that my casting wasn’t completely kak. Having the opportunity to learn from experienced casting instructors has motivated me to further develop my casting.
Some of my casting objectives currently include:
- Developing better efficiency (distance to false cast ration)
- Achieve better loop formation on my forward delivery (This is huge issue ATM)
- Better my presentation and accuracy for my real-world fishing scenarios
- Perfecting my tailing loop;-)
Competitive fishing definitely isn’t for me but I would consider competitive fly casting if the opportunity presented itself.
Being new to the forum and having not studied its contents just yet, I am hoping there will be some content to help me self-troubleshoot casting issues. If there are any threads relating to the following, I would really appreciate a link:
- Recording your cast; tips and tricks, camera angles etc.
- Casting Jargon, if I am going to talk about it, I may as well make sense.
- Practice exercises, routines and games etc.
- Practice flies (is this even a thing?)
- Any other recommended reading, posts or stickies.
If there is anyone from CT here, please hit me up. Looking forward to learning a lot from the forum.

(and actually I deeply suspect that some of them don’t know either!). 
It was originally and APP with the idea being that you could take individual lesssons to the practise field. I reckon there is about 3 years of practise there.
