My examiners grilled me on it, wanting me to give that loop a name. I didn't have one, but I knew it wasn't a tailing loop because the line only "crosses" once. Tails have two intersection points when viewed from the side.

The answer they wanted was "trailing loop".

Just double checking here Graeme; I was speaking of Tail's little brother, Tendency, not Underslung loops.

Hi Craig,

My fault. I should have specified the grilling was on the trailing loop, not the tendency to tail. Pronouns can be dangerous.
