I'm assuming that the line spirals around the tip ring.

Ok, and that would be in a continous loaded cast?
I'd rather assume the caster moved the butt of the rod in sharp turns, and that's why there would be twists below the reel
Cheers

Flycasting, so simple that instructors need to make it complicated since 1685

And how does that put a 360 degree twist in the line?

At last Paul I think I understand . It's the same principle involved in swinging the line in a compleet circle around the rod tip a few times . Twists will only be trapped between the tip and hand.Is it bad casting though.?

No I don't think it's bad casting because it's normal with some casts. I just hit it to the reel from time to time to get rid of it.
How does the rest of your casting look?

I'll try not to. Mr T is more worried for the tigers and says they'll be making fires when they smell my socks.

Not too sexy but i'm going to work on it. Think I will lay an old straightened line on ground and spray paint one side. should show up where twists are forming and gathering.I sure know how to make them.
John.
