What's your favourite type of fishing for taking shots?

(This will be my FP for this week! http://www.sexyloops.com/index.php/ps/taking-shots  )

Mine is Giant Snakehead by the way :p

Cheers, Paul

Bonefish!
I love fishing shallow water flats from a skiff. There’s so much to see, apart from the fish. And I think bonefish are great because they are tricky enough to present a challenge, but not so tough that you don’t catch fish.

Big Pike laid up in a light colored bottom bay. Watching them follow the fly makes the knees shake! Then (hopefully) the acceleration and eat right in front of you and ensuing pandemonium! I enjoy watching the whole process play out.

40" plus Redfish in shallow, clear water. Only a few places in Texas where you can do that with any regularity.
OR
Carp of any size in shallow clear water

I haven’t fished much for bones, Nick, but I certainly plan to spend a lot of time doing so at one point. I imagine it’s very much like trouting with nymphs hard on the bottom. But of course the fights are very different. I’ve had a few :p

I’ve sight fished for pike Andrew. I love the way they engulf the fly! Have only caught smaller reds <10lbs. Mostly with Rick and Bill in Texas - about the time I met you Andy. Great fun for sure! And yeah I’m with you Mika. For me every cast feels like a shot - even blind fishing nowadays.

I love the feeling of taking a shot. It’s sort of like “Bang! Take that!” Fantastic fun. When I was up in Belum last week with the examiners from the Malaysian Meet I was asked how many casts I made that morning. I had no idea. I asked Ashly. “About ten”! Perfect

Cheers, Paul
