Hi all...finally got around to posting this video of some Sailfish on Fly action to Vimeo.
Before you watch...I am NOT skilled like the Australlian fly fishing filmaker Benny Godfrey...so dont expect luscious 'Aquasoul' HD eye candy.
Do expect to hear a fly reel in pain!

A perfectly laid down 60 foot cast will catch more fish than casting to the backing knot on your 120' fly line...particularly when most times you'll just throw an 80 foot 'wiggle cast'.

Cheers mate!petevicar wrote:Great stuff.
Well done.
Nothing in the sea has the outright speed of a sailfish. That reel lost between 300 and 400m of backing in the short time that the captain tried to restart the engines!!! I speak basic bahasa malay and the deckie was a little worried about being spooled!!!
Cheers
