Using unfamiliar tackle

#1

Post by WJC »

My buddy was down here after moving north to Georgia and fishing with my gear.

Here’s a short video that you might get a chuckle out of. I pack all my reels to the gills with backing, leaving very little room for the fly line.

The audio is not that good, but my buddy’s comment right after I start laughing is humorous, especially considering he’s been a guide for 40 years and was a pioneer in teasing up billfish for fly rodders as well as running sport fishers in billfish tournaments.

I caught it’s twin the following evening – another bonus fish that show up toward the end of the tarpon migration.

Paul, I apologise for not getting back to you. Life has been hectic. Will send you a PM within the next couple of days.

Cheers,
Jim

Thanks Jim - great to hear from you :D I’ll have a look at the video from my WiFi connection. Not loading where I am

Cheers, Paul
It's an exploration; bring a flyrod.
