Greetings
Reading Pop Fleyes: Bob Popovics's Approach to Saltwater Fly Design.
He uses Larva Lace fly tying mono, suppose to come in different colors.
Anyone know of this product? And is there a substitute?

There are several alternatives to Larva Lace's mono thread. UNI has one I've used for many, many years and Veevus also has a mono thread, which is also good. I don't like tying with mono, but it has the great advantage that it disappears when covered with epoxy/UV-resin.

Agree, mono isn't the most user friendly material.
I find it easy to create bulk, if your not careful.
Claim is it enhances base material colors.
I'll be checking the products you mention. Most of my fly tying focuses on salt water patterns.
Thanks for the info.

Well, I won't say it enhances anything, but is does go transparent unless you really pile it on.

Have fun - it's definitely worth having a roll of mono thread, I think.
